Sail Away

One of my favorite ways to holiday is to go on a cruise and discover new places without having to set foot onto a plane.

It’s Day 4 on a cruise from Southampton around the British Isles and I have never felt more relaxed in my life.

I have finally reconnected to the world by getting a days worth of WiFi and to check in with friends and family back home. Having a total disconnect for a few days is worth so very much to me.

After a wonderful day in Edinburgh yesterday we are now heading further north to the Orkney Islands which we are scheduled to arrive in the morning

Walking around Edinburgh reminded me how much I love it there and how much I have missed visiting it over the last few years with everything that was going on and that kept us from travelling.

We were unusually lucky with the weather and I have visited Edinburgh when it’s usually not such a gorgeous blue sky and warm sunny day. To be honest I sometimes prefer a gloomy dark and foggy day as it makes the old buildings and cobblestones streets so very hauntingly beautiful.

Anyone who has never been shpuld definitely try to see Edinburgh and the surrounding countryside at least once and I promise you will fall in love just like I did when I visited for a weekend break so many years ago.

Leaving the mainland and heading further north
